Sisters

I seriously LOVE these 2!!!

Afton is a great big sister! She's always ready to play, distract, feed, grab diapers, snuggle and give endless kisses and LOVE!

Maya LOVES Afton. She STARES at Afton a lot! I laugh when I look in the mirror attached to the back seat of the car because Maya is almost always staring at Afton.

Afton looks so serious but she wasn't. They were playing and giggling and I got them to stop just long enough to snap a photo.

Battle Creek Falls

Today was the perfect day for a hike. It was late afternoon and the clouds were gathering in the sky. The temperature was around 85 but it didn't feel really warm.

Last time we attempted this hike it was Father's Day and Maya didn't make it very far. And by very far I mean 50 feet out of the parking lot. We were ready to attempt it again...

Afton was so excited to have her own camelback. I loved it too because she had a lot of water on the hike!

I forgot to bring my regular lens so you can't see the whole waterfall but oh well.

Maya was mesmerized by the waterfall. The wind was blowing her hair and the water was splashing onto her face. She loved it!

The rhythm of Brett's walking must have finally put Mymy to sleep. She was kicking her legs with excitement up until that point!

Boise cousin sleepover

Every summer Clara and Lydia come to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a week. We love to spend time with them and try and get in one sleepover while they're here.

One of the days we spent at Grandma Sandy's playing with her amazing dress up collection. She has scarves and hats and headbands and glitter and wings and everything a girl could want.

Lydia is a natural born model. She loves posing for the camera while Clara was behind the scenes running the wardrobe changes. I even got a fun outfit for a while!

Another day we spent time outside. Two little pools were filled with water and the girls had fun splashing, playing, laughing and laying in the sun.

One night we decided to out on the town. Grandma Sandy gave each girl $5 and they decided to go to Justice. Afton walked in and found a purple feather pen immediately and that kept her pretty occupied while the girls shopped. Lydia decided on a bag of gummy candy (hot dogs, hamburgers, etc) and a feather for her hair and Clara (after much deliberation) decided on a bag of Pixie Sticks (I was keeping her for the night so I figured whatever) and some fake nails. Better than some of the alternatives like the training bra she wanted. I told her she'd better make that a  mommy daughter activity! :)

After Justice we went to Arctic Circle. We had corn dogs and mini cones and the girls played for a few minutes. Once we made it home the girls washed up, got on PJ's and we put in a Barbie movie and had some healthy snacks. Our little neighbor Yana came over as well. Her family was moving the next day and we were glad to have her.

Afton was so excited to have the girls sleep over and couldn't wait to sleep on the floor with them. They let her snuggle into the middle and she was all smiles.

The next day we took off on the trail. Grandma gave each girl a little water bottle with a special holder. We were going to color them but couldn't find markers but we took them anyway.

Once we got home we decided to meet Grandpa and Grandma at a new park. It isn't really new, just new to us. We drove for about 20 minutes and I didn't take a single picture because I spent the entire time trying to keep track of Afton. This park is made of wood and has tunnels and ladders and closed in areas which make it really hard to see your child if they're moving around. So between me and my mom and my dad we kept an eye on the 3 girls and they had a blast.

When we were done we said goodbye to the girls and they jumped in Grandma and Grandpa's car for the ride back to Boise.

Backyard campout

Afton loves fires, s'mores and anything resembling a tent so we figured it'd be fun to create a little camp out in the yard!

Brett and Afton set up the tent in the backyard and the girls had so much fun playing on the air mattress. Once that was ready we made a fire and Afton worked on a little craft while we waited for it to die down a little.

S'mores were next and it didn't take long to realize we didn't have any sticks. Oops We ended up using shishkabob sticks which weren't ideal but oh well. Afton picked out the biggest marshmallows we could find at the store and I think she ate a few before the fire was even ready. Once it came time to roast marshmallows she would give them to me and Daddy!

Huge marshmallows!

Maya was getting a kick out of watching the fire, she kept smiling and smiling!

Baby girl might be ready for a s'more!
